Making Connections Across Disciplines: A Multiple Intelligences Approach to Movement Exploration

This workshop would be appropriate for public school teachers who work with kindergarten to middle school students. A Movement exploration approach to learning is beneficial because it cultivates the whole student by connecting mind and body; develops self-knowledge and intuitive understanding; increases imagination and problem solving abilities; initiates self-expression and group interaction; provides exercise; develops aesthetic sensitivity; includes multicultural experiences; encourages discipline and perseverance; and can help clarify concepts in other subjects. Movement exploration can also help teachers meet the objectives of the national and state education standards.
