Teaching Choreography Using Improvisation

This class uses a movement discovery approach to develop an understanding of basic choreographic concepts. This experience begins with simple, outer motivated ideas, and progresses to more complex and inner motivated sources for movement later in the sessions. An emphasis is placed on encouraging participants to discover their own unique movement for their choreography. Materials are presented using visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic cues in order to appeal to those with different learning styles.
