A Visual Survey of Dance History
This workshop includes information on the development of dance from the time of early tribal cultures to the beginning of the 20th century. Dance history is discussed in terms of both religious and secular forms, and emphasis is placed on connecting the dance forms of a period to the thinking or philosophy, the other art forms and the architecture of the times. Slides are used throughout to illustrate the lecture materials.
