USING MOVEMENT AS A TEACHING TOOL
IN INTERDISCIPLINARY EDUCATION

Dates: September 19 to December 5

Content: Emphasis is on teaching academic concepts through movement. Participants learn to tailor movement experiences appropriate for communicating specific ideas to students. A Multiple Intelligences approach to learning is demonstrated throughout the class along with active learning teaching strategies. Dance making and connections between movement-based teaching techniques and popular educational theories are also provided.

Credit: Class is worth two hours of university graduate credit.

Location: Class is taught totally on-line.

Cost: $516 for weekly lessons and a copy of Using Movement to Teach Academics: The Mind & Body As One Entity, written by the instructor & published by Rowman & Littlefield in 2008. There is no extra charge for out-of-state students.
