STRATEGIES FOR USING MOVEMENT AS A TEACHING TOOL, DNCE 508

Dates: July 12 & 14, 9:00 am. to 4:00 pm. with a break for lunch, and 
July 16, 9:00 am. to noon, 2010.

Content: Emphasis is on teaching academic concepts through movement. Participants learn how to create & tailor movement experiences appropriate for communicating ideas & content to students. A Multiple Intelligences approach to teaching is demonstrated throughout the class, along with Active Learning teaching strategies.

Credit: Class is worth one hour of university graduate credit.

Location: The UNC Denver Center at Lowry

University of Northern Colorado Extended Studies
On-Line Class

Dates: September 20 to December 6, 2010

Content: Emphasis is on teaching academic concepts through movement. Participants learn to tailor movement experiences appropriate for communicating specific ideas to students. A Multiple Intelligences approach to learning is demonstrated throughout the class along with active learning teaching strategies. Connections between movement-based teaching techniques and popular educational theories are also provided.

Credit: Class is worth two hours of university graduate credit.

Location: Class is taught totally on-line.
